In 1769, on a trip from San Diego to Monterey, Juan Crespi stated that Agoura Hills was a “plain of considerable extent and much beauty, forested in all parts by live oaks with much pasture and water.”

In 1963, the Agoura Hills community began bringing water in from the Colorado River. Dependable water sources made Agoura more attractive to the eye. At this point, businesses started opening, families started moving in and Agoura Hills became the popular city it is known today.
